ABOUT US

Originally from a warm climate, Dweeshada experienced her first Australian winter and was struck by how quickly the cold could feel harsh and unforgiving. One evening at a night event, she met people experiencing homelessness enduring that same cold with very little protection. That moment changed her perspective, the discomfort she felt for a short time suddenly felt insignificant compared to what others face night after night. It became a turning point, and a responsibility she couldn’t ignore.

From there, she began searching for better ways to provide warmth. Disposable hand warmers were easy to access but short-lived and wasteful, often ending up in landfill. Rechargeable options were more sustainable, but rarely accessible and mostly limited to niche markets. This gap led to a simple belief: warmth shouldn’t depend on where you are or your circumstances—it should be accessible to everyone who needs it.

After testing different solutions, she found a reliable option and set out to build something bigger than a product. Together with her partner, she created "Warmify Lab", a purpose-driven initiative where every purchase extends warmth beyond the customer. For every hand warmer sold, a pair of gloves is donated to someone in need, and every tenth purchase provides a hand warmer to someone experiencing homelessness. These choices were made intentionally, even at the cost of profit, because impact comes first.

At its core, Warmify Lab is about collective action; making it easier for anyone who wants to help to actually make a difference through simple, everyday purchases.

Looking ahead, the vision goes further: to help build supportive communities where people experiencing homelessness are not only given safe places to live, but also meaningful work through urban farms built alongside their homes. In these spaces, residents would grow and harvest crops that are sold at local markets, turning their work into visible contribution and restored dignity.

Income from this work would be shared, supporting individuals directly while also reinvesting into expanding the model to include more people. Over time, this creates a self-sustaining cycle that replaces isolation with participation, dependence with ownership, and uncertainty with structure.

Ultimately, Warmify Lab exists to help people rebuild not just stability, but identity, routine, and a real sense of belonging within a community they are part of and help shape.
